I think shooting with a zoom lens is a challenge, because you also think about the focal length. I do that as a brain exercise.
I understand that Pinkhassov doesn't think when he uses the zoom lens and does everything relying on his instincts, but it's a completely different approach different from mine. Photography can be done in so many different ways and that's amazing.
A great post, Eduardo. Thank you. I started following Sokolova on Instagram. I'm surprised she shoots in automatic mode and in jpeg only. I had never heard of a professional photographer using such amateur restrictions. Obviously, they don't hinder her creativity. She's brilliant. BTW, while you're in Tbilisi (not sure how long you plan to stay) there's another Russian photographer I follow on Instagram who lives there now, who's quite amazing in his own right. Dima Zverev. We've exchanged texts, but I've never met him.
I didnt ask her that in particular. Tho She did mention several times the war is a stupid thing. On a side note, Crimea was part of Russia from 1783 until 1954.
Didn’t know her, very interesting word and article. Thx for sharing!
my pleasure, thanks for reading!

Exactly, the photography practice is also a mirror of your own personality. You can understand so much about yourself through the art of photography.

Tbilisi is high on my list of places to visit. My wife and I were all set to go when the pandemic happened.
Maybe next year.
Irina told me also Pinkasshov shoots on jpeg most of the time. Mind-blowing, isnt it?
Thanks for sharing, I'll definitely try to contact that photographer the next time I'm in Tbilisi. Try to come soon before it gets too trendy haha
"living temporarily in Georgia due to geopolitical reasons".
did you ask her, whose Crimea?
